US bankruptcy court approves sales of RG Steel assets

Late Wednesday, US Bankruptcy Judge Kevin Carey approved the $72 million sale of RG Steel's Sparrows Point mill to Hilco Industrial, an industrial liquidation company, and Environmental Liability Transfer Inc. Environmental Liability has said that they will attempt to find operators for the facility.

Carey also approved the sale of RG Steel's assets at its Yorkville, Ohio, facility to Esmark Steel Group and provisionally approved the sale of the Warren, Ohio mill to C.J. Betters Inc. for $16 million cash.
