US auto sales boost in February compared to 2014

US auto sales in February increased 5.3 percent year-on-year to 1,257,619 vehicles, according to research firm Autodata.

By manufacturer, year-on-year sales figures were as follows: General Motors, up 4.2 percent; Ford and Lincoln down 2 percent; Fiat Chrysler, up 5.6 percent; Honda and Acura, up 5 percent; Toyota, Scion and Lexus, up 13.3. percent; Nissan and Infiniti; up 2.7 percent; and BMW and Mini, up 51.3 percent.
