Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending April 24 the
US rig count decreased by 22 to 932, after a 34-rig drop the previous week. The gas rig count increased by eight to 225, whereas the oil rig count decreased by 31 to 703. The overall rig count is down by 929 from 1,861 rigs during the same week a year ago.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count decreased by one in the week ending April 24 to 79, after a 19-rig decrease the week before. The Canadian rig count is down by 89 from 168 rigs during the same week a year ago.
