A meeting on safety standards in mines, excluding coal mines, has been held in China's Hainan Province, with the participation of 350 directors of non-coal mining corporations.
The meeting resolved that all non-coal mines which fail to meet safety standards will be closed down by 2013. This requirement concerning all non-coal mines exceeds the aim proposed by China's State Council that "only large-scale enterprises need to reach safety standards."
