Universal Stainless increases its prices

Bridgeville-based steel producer Universal Stainless & Alloy Products Inc has recently announced that it will increase base prices of all premium remelted and high strength low alloy grades of steel by 7% and base prices of all other stainless and tool steel grades by 5% to be effective for shipments as of August 1, 2004. Moreover, the company will increase the premium over London Metal Exchange price for nickel used to calculate its raw material surcharge to $0.23 per pound from $0.18 per pound.
