UNESID: Spanish steel output up 18.6 percent in Feb from Jan

According to the Spanish steelmakers association UNESID, in February this year Spain’s steel production totaled 942,000 mt, up by 18.6 percent month on month and down by four percent year on year. In the January-February period this year, the country’s steel production totaled 1.74 million mt, compared to 1.95 million mt recorded in the same period last year.

In the given month, the Spanish steel industry recycled 769,000 mt of scrap to be used for new steel products, rising by 15.6 percent compared to January and declining by two percent year on year. In the first two months this year, the industry recycled 1.43 million mt of scrap.
