The Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA) has noted the continued growth of ferroalloys imports in the domestic Ukrainian market.

Accordingly, in July this year, Ukraine imported 7,198 mt of manganese and silicon alloys (excluding metallic manganese), in June the country imported 5,818 mt of these products, while in May this figure stood at 3,351 mt.

UkrFA noted in its statement that Ukraine's main imported manganese alloy remains silicomanganese. In July, the country imported 5,256 mt of this product. The main silicomanganese supplier this year has been Georgia, which in July delivered 1,763 mt to Ukraine, and has supplied 8,179 mt of this alloy to Ukraine since the beginning of the year. Other major suppliers are India, South Africa, Slovakia, Kazakhstan and South Korea.

Previously, UkrFa noted the growth of ferroalloy imports in Ukraine and urged the government to introduce restrictions on imports of these products.
