The Ukrainian parliament (Verkhovna Rada) has announced that it has approved the extension of the export duty on scrap for one year instead of two years as approved in June this year. The decision is subject to the approval of the President Petro Poroshenko to become official.

The Ukrainian parliament’s draft law to extend the export duty on scrap for another two years was vetoed by the president.

The current export duty on scrap stands at €30/mt and is valid until September this year.
