Ukrainian mill Alchevsk posts 2008 production results

The Ukrainian steel producer Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works (Alchevsk), the subsidiary of the Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), has announced its preliminary results for 2008.

In 2008, Alchevsk increased its pig iron production by 13.87 percent, its crude steel production by 10.36 percent, its finished steel production by 10.6 percent, but reduced its agglomerate production by 10.65 percent year on year. The respective figures in million metric tons were 3.777, 4.356, 3.940 and 4.390.
