According to the Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA), in January-October this year Ukraine increased its ferroalloys production by 47 percent compared to the same period last year to 1.19 million mt.
Accordingly, during the first 10 months of this year, Ukraine's silicomanganese output increased by 34 percent to 781,900 mt, its ferromanganese production went up by 2.4 times to 236,600 mt, its ferrosilicon output increased by 35 percent to 159,700 mt, while its metallic manganese production was unchanged from last year amounting to 12,400 mt, all compared to the same period of 2009.
Specifically, in January-October this year, the largest Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant increased its ferroalloy output by 47.6 percent year on year to 768,700 mt, including 589,900 mt of silicomanganese and 178,800 mt of ferromanganese.
Meanwhile, during the period in question, Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Zaporozhye Ferro Alloys Plant increased its ferroalloy output by 41.3 percent year on year to 241,400 mt, including 123,100 mt of silicomanganese, 57,800 mt of ferromanganese, 48,000 mt of ferrosilicon and 12,400 mt of metallic manganese.
In addition, another major Ukrainian ferroalloy producer Stakhanov Ferroalloy Plant increased its January-October ferroalloy output by 51.5 percent year on year to 180,600 mt, including 111,700 mt of ferrosilicon and 68,900 mt of silicomanganese.
