Ukrainian crude steel output expected to increase in June

In July this year, Ukraine's crude steel production is expected to increase by 2.9 percent compared to the expected June result to 2.52 million mt, according to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom.

According to Metallurgprom's forecast, pig iron output in Ukraine will total 2.470 million mt in July, up 5.1 percent compared to June, while Ukrainian production of rolled steel is expected to total 2.250 million mt, up 2.3 percent compared to June.

In July, domestic steelmakers will need 640,000 mt of sintering ore, 1.730 million mt of iron ore concentrate, 410,000 mt of agglomerate, 520,000 mt of iron ore pellets, 940,000 mt of limestone, 1.180 million mt of metallurgical coke and 310,000 mt of steel scrap in order to ensure the planned volumes of production in the given month.
