Ukrainian construction activity drops by 5.4 percent in 2010

In 2010, Ukraine's construction activity registered a 5.4 percent drop to UAH 43.2 billion ($5.4 billion) compared to 2009, when the decrease was almost double compared to 2008.
 
Accordingly, in 2010, Ukraine saw a decrease in all major types of construction activity, excepting preparatory work for construction sites, where growth amounted to five percent year on year to UAH 2.07 billion ($260 million). The smallest decline in construction activity was registered in the construction of buildings and structures - down 4.8 percent year on year (UAH 36.7 billion ($4.6 billion), representing 85 percent of the country's total construction activity).
