In the January-June period of this year, Ukraine exported 23.11 million mt of iron ore, up 17.9 percent, worth a total of $1.14 billion, down 40 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
In terms of value, the exports mostly went to China (46.93 percent), to Poland (9.86 percent) and to the Czech Republic (9.96 percent).
Meanwhile, in the first six months of this year Ukraine imported 1.10 million mt of iron ore, down 35.9 percent, worth a total of $51.814 million, down 65.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis. The main supplier of iron ore to Ukraine in the given period was Russia, which supplied 99.98 percent of the total import volume.
