Ukraine’s steel production down 20% in Jan-Feb

In the January-February period of the coming year, steel production in Ukraine declined by 20 percent year on year to 2.082 million mt, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Committee. At the same time, in February raw steel production totaled 1.053 million mt, up slightly compared with previous months but down 16.5 percent year on year.

In February this year, Ukraine's production of semi-finished steel products made by continuous casting decreased by 7.7 percent  year on year to 1.341 million mt and was also down 7.7 percent month on month. In the January-February period this year, Ukrainian production of slabs and billets amounted to 2.795 million mt, down 4.8 percent year on year.
