Ukraine’s steel product imports rise 5.9 percent in January-April

In January-April of the current year, Ukraine's imports of steel products rose by 5.9 percent compared to the same period of last year, to 511,000 mt.


In particular, according to the data for the first four months of this year, Ukrainian imports of semi-finished steel products increased by 13.1 percent to 150,000 mt, its imports of flat rolled steel decreased by 3.1 percent to 242,000 mt, and its imports of long steel increased by 19.5 percent to 116,000 mt, all compared to the corresponding period of 2010.


In January-April 2011, Ukrainian imports of pig iron increased by 32 percent to 26,800 mt.
