Ukraine's long steel product imports increase by 79 percent in 2010

In 2010, Ukraine's imports of long steel products increased by 79.2 percent year on year to 378,860 mt, valued at $350.6 million.
 
In December 2010, Ukraine's long steel product imports amounted to 32,680 mt, almost equal to the November level but up 34.6 percent year on year. About 60 percent of this volume, i.e., 19,570 mt came from Russia, 4,960 mt came from Bulgaria, 2,600 mt from Belarus, 2,140 mt from Romania, 940 mt from Poland, and 610 mt were imported from China.
 
Ukraine's expenditure on imports of long steel products in December was down by 0.2 percent compared to November, decreasing to $33.3 million.
