Ukraine’s ferroalloy imports up 77.5 percent in June over May

In June this year, Ukraine increased its ferroalloy imports by 77.5 percent to 9,050 mt, costing $22.13 million - up 36.3 percent, both compared to May. However, on year-on-year basis the import figure constituted a decrease of 37.7 percent.

Specifically, in June Ukraine's ferrosilicomanganese imports increased by 98 percent to 4,990 mt, with 1,370 mt delivered by Georgia, its ferrosilicon imports went up by 25 percent to 100 mt, with 90 mt supplied by Russia, while its ferromanganese imports dropped by 47.7 percent to 340 mt, with 160 mt supplied by South Korea, all compared to May.

Meanwhile, in H1 2010, Ukraine's imports of ferroalloys decreased by 17.5 percent to 51,420 mt, as compared to the same period last year.
