Ukraine’s ferroalloy imports and exports decrease in January

In January this year, Ukraine's exports of ferroalloys registered a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to December, falling to 82,290 mt, valued at $89.64 million. Meanwhile, compared to January 2010, the country's ferroalloy exports went down by 15.5 percent
 
Specifically, in January of the current year, Ukraine's ferrosilicomanganese exports decreased by 2.1 percent to 57,670 mt, its ferromanganese exports went down by 23.4 percent to 6,700 mt, while its ferrosilicon exports rose by 68 percent to 9,860 mt, all compared to December 2010.
 
Meanwhile, in the first month of 2011, Ukraine imported 10,840 mt of ferroalloys - down 11.2 percent compared to January 2010 and down 25.4 percent compared to December 2010.
 
In particular, in January this year, the country's imports of ferrosilicomanganese decreased by 25.3 percent to 6,270 mt, its imports of ferromanganese went down by 45.3 percent to 580 mt, while its imports of ferrosilicon decreased by 55 percent to 180 mt, all compared to January 2010.
