Ukraine’s crude steel production up 13.6 percent in April over March

In the January-April period of the current year, Ukraine's finished steel output decreased by 31 percent to 6.18 million mt, its crude steel output fell 31 percent to 7.08 million mt and its pig iron production decreased by 32 percent to 6.42 million mt, all year on year, according to the data issued by Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom. In the same period, the country's metallurgical coke output declined by 42 percent year on year to 3.29 million mt.

Meanwhile, in April alone, Ukraine produced 1.93 million mt of crude steel, up 13.6 percent, 1.69 million of finished steel products, rising by 17.7 percent, and 1.71 million mt of pig iron, increasing by 8.7 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
