Ukraine’s crude steel output to decrease by 15 percent in 2015

In 2015, crude steel production in Ukraine is expected to decrease by 15 percent year on year to 23 million mt, pig iron production in the country is expected to decline by 11 percent year on year to 22 million mt, while finished steel products production is foreseen to move down by 16 percent year on year to 20 million mt, according to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom.
 
According to Metallurgprom’s report, Ukrainian companies will reduce their crude steel output in January by 4.8 percent month on month to 2 million mt, while finished steel products output will remain unchanged month on month at 1.8 million mt.
 
In January, Ukrainian companies plan to produce 2 million mt of pig iron, equal to the estimated production level in December this year.
