Ukraine’s AzovElectroStal builds new electro-smelting unit

Ukrainain steel producer AzovElectroStal has announced that in February 2009 it has finished the construction of its new electro-smelting unit, which includes a new 60 tons electric arc furnace with modern gas purification system, a new ladle furnace and a new concaster.

The new electro-smelting unit will allow AzovElectroStal to expand its production range and to produce steel rounds of 400 mm in diameter and of 4,000 to 12,000 mm in length, and steel squares of 250 mm in diameter and 4,000 to 12,000 mm in length, of carbon, low alloyed and alloyed steel grades.
