Ukraine-based DMKD to cut production in January

Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky (DMKD), a subsidiary of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass (ISD), plans to decrease its production in the current month of January.

In particular, DMKD plans to produce 220,000 mt of crude steel, down 1.3 percent, and 198,000 mt of pig iron, down one percent, both compared to December 2013.

In the whole of 2013, DMKD saw a 5.7 percent year-on-year decline in its finished steel product output to 2.980 million mt, a 12.5 percent decrease in its pig iron production to 2.638 million mt, while its crude steel production went down by seven percent year on year to 2.931 million mt.
