Ukraine issues semi-finished import and export data for 2010

In 2010, Ukraine's semi-finished steel product exports saw a slight decrease of 0.8 percent compared to 2009, amounting to 11.404 million mt, valued at about $5.426 billion, while its imports of semi-finished steel products increased by 91 percent year on year to 472,580 mt, valued at $285 million.
 
In December 2010, Ukraine's semi-finished steel product exports decreased by 22.2 percent compared to November and by 10.6 percent compared to December 2009, to about 816,600 mt, valued at $426.77 million, down 25.7 percent month on month.
 
Ukraine's main semi-finished steel product export destinations in December were Italy (188,830 mt), Lebanon (91,300 mt), Turkey (80,290 mt), Romania (65,590 mt), Egypt (61,500 mt), and Indonesia (50,400 mt).

Meanwhile, in December 2010, Ukraine's semi-finished steel product imports saw a 7.3 percent decrease month on month but a 161 percent increase year on year to 43,280 mt. Of this volume, 38,920 mt came from Russia, 4,110 mt from Belarus, and 180 mt were imported from Germany.
 
Ukraine's expenditure on imports of semi-finished steel products in December 2010 was down by about 10 percent compared to November, decreasing to $27.9 million.
