Ukraine issues Q1 ferroalloy import-export data

In the first quarter of this year, Ukraine's exports of ferroalloys registered an increase of 3.6 times to 316,670 mt, compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in March this year the country's ferroalloy exports went up by 2.6 times year on year to 107,030 mt. However, on month-on-month basis the figure constituted a decrease of 4.6 percent.

Specifically, in March, Ukraine's ferrosilicomanganese exports increased by 7.3 percent to 77,250 mt, its ferromanganese exports went down by 27.1 percent to 14,900 mt, while its ferrosilicon exports decreased by 20.2 percent to 8,130 mt, all compared to February.

Meanwhile, in Q1 2010, Ukraine imported 30,370 mt of ferroalloys - up 56 percent compared to the same period last year, with its March imports increasing by 77.1 percent month on month to 10,340 mt, or up 7.8 percent on year-on-year basis.

In particular, in March this year, the country's imports of ferrosilicomanganese increased by 18 percent to 4,320 mt, its imports of ferromanganese went up by 18.4 percent to 2,320 mt, while its imports of ferrosilicon increased by 36.4 percent to 300 mt, all compared to February.
