Ukraine issues January-August steel export data

According to the data for the first eight months of 2010, Ukraine's exports of steel pipes decreased by 15 percent year on year to 778,280 mt, while its semi-finished steel product exports went down by 0.4 percent year on year to 7.744 million mt.

Meanwhile, in January-August this year, the country's exports of flat rolled steel increased by 13 percent to about 4.326 million mt, and its exports of long steel went up by 20.1 percent to about 3.779 million mt, both compared to the same period last year.

In addition, during the period in question, Ukraine registered a 2.7 percent increase in its pig iron exports to 985,880 mt, a 63.3 percent rise in its coke exports to 933,510 mt, a 35 percent growth in its iron ore exports to 21.836 million mt, and an 18.7 percent increase in its scrap exports to 499,070 mt, all compared to January-August 2009.
