Ukraine increases scrap collection level

According to preliminary data, in the January-April 2007 period Ukraine increased scrap collection levels by 23.57 percent year on year to 2.249 million metric tons.

The scrap exports from the country increased from 185,000 metric tons in the first four months of 2006 to 222,500 metric tons in the same period of 2007.

In addition, during the period in question Ukraine's share of export deliveries in the country's scrap collection volume decreased from 9.7 percent to 9.1 percent.
