Ukraine agrees with the EU, outlining tonnage for its steel exports

Officials of Ukraine and the EU have signed an agreement allowing Ukraine to export around 185'000 mts of steel products into the European Union in 2003. Depending on reduction levels of the export tax applied by the Ukrainian government on scrap exports which is currently in the amount of €30/mt, the tonnage allowed for steel exports into the EU through the agreement will gradually increase. Other details of the agreement remain undisclosed for the time being.
