UK basic metal output index down 0.7 percent in July from June

According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in July this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing increased by 0.8 percent compared to July last year and was down by 0.9 percent compared to June. According to the ONS, in the May-July period of this year, the country’s seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing rose by 0.5 percent quarter on quarter and increased by 0.8 percent compared to the same quarter of last year.
 
Meanwhile, in July the production index for basic metals and metal products decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was down 0.7 percent compared to June. In the May-July period of this year, the production index for basic metals and metal products decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the previous quarter and decreased by 2.3 percent compared to the same quarter of 2015.
