Ugur Dalbeler: “2010 will be more positive”

On October 19 at the SteelOrbis Fall 09 Conference & 61st IREPAS Meeting, participating market players expressed their views regarding the current state of the global markets during the separate committee meetings which were held for raw materials, producers and traders, and also during the sub-committee meetings for rebar & wire rod suppliers and for billet suppliers.

After the committee meetings, Colakoglu Metalurji A.S. managing director and IREPAS chairman Ugur Dalbeler delivered the opening speech for the SteelOrbis Fall 09 Conference & 61st IREPAS Meeting. In his speech, Mr. Dalbeler remarked that, participating steel market players have every reason to think that they have succeeded in building their steel community on very solid grounds.

Mr. Dalbeler expressed his belief that next year will be a good starting point for building up new business and for expanding. He also said he believed IREPAS would see more smiling faces at their upcoming meetings in 2010. Mr. Dalbeler opened the conference sessions by remarking that he saw more relaxed and comfortable faces at the current event and that everyone was confident as the worst of the crisis was over. He said everyone agreed that 2010 would be more positive compared to 2009.

In addition, SteelOrbis CEO Murat Eryilmaz made a welcome speech during which he thanked the speakers and participants as well as the sponsors of the event.
