UGS acquires new rebar facility in Abu Dhabi

One of the leading steel manufacturers in Saudi Arabia, United Gulf Steel (UGS), has acquired a new rebar rolling facility named Union Iron and Steel Mill in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Union Iron and Steel Mill, which has an annual production capacity of 350,000 mt of rebar in sizes of 8 mm to 32 mm, is the first acquisition of UGS outside of Saudi Arabia. The mill sources its billets from the international market.

UGS is the only manufacturer of medium section structural steel products in the entire GCC region, which comprises of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman & Bahrain. The company has an annual production capacity of 450,000 mt.
