Turkish steelmaker Cemtas prepares to commission ladle furnace No. 2

On June 1, Bursa-based Turkish special steelmaker Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S (Cemtas) announced that it completed initial test production at its new ladle furnace No. 2 at the end of May and that the ladle furnace will be commissioned after final tests in June.


The new furnace is expected to increase Cemtas' melt shop production capacity by seven percent. Annual production capacity of the company's melt shop is 153,150 metric tons. The total cost of the new equipment reached TRY 5 million ($3.12 million).


Cemtas is specialized in the production of special grade steel, mainly for the automotive and machine manufacturing industries. The company's rolling mill production capacity is 228,160 metric tons per year.
