Turkish PPGI imports down 28.8 percent in January-June

In the first six months of the current year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports amounted to 23,521 mt, decreasing by 28.8 percent, while the revenue from these imports totaled $23.3 million, down 34.7 percent, both year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
 
In June this year, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 75.66 percent to 1,606 metric tons compared to the same month of the previous year. The value of these imports amounted to $2.22 million, up 67.4 percent year on year. 
 
In the January-June period of this year, China ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 11,608 metric tons, down 43.21 percent year on year. China was followed by Italy and Belgium, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 3,456 metric tons and 2,134 metric tons, down 17.71 percent and decreasing by 15.92 percent, respectively.
