Turkish motor vehicle output up 34 percent in August

In August this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 76,987 units, increasing by 34 percent year on year and up 31.7 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automative Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-August period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 857,307 units, up 19 percent year on year.
 
In August alone, passenger car output amounted to 45,210 units, increasing by 21 percent, while commercial car output totaled 31,777 units, up by 59 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-August period, passenger car output totaled 499,652 units, up nine percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 357,655 units, rising by 37 percent, both compared to the January-August period of 2014.
