Turkish wire rod exports up 16.4 percent in Q1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year Turkey's total wire rod exports amounted to 122,590 metric tons, increasing by 15.5 percent month on month and down three percent from March 2011.

Meanwhile, the revenue generated by Turkey's wire rod exports in March totaled $78.8 million, increasing by 13.6 percent compared to the previous month and down 6.15 percent year on year.

On the other hand, in the first quarter of 2012 Turkey's wire rod exports stood at 296,772 metric tons, up 16.4 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $192.6 million, increasing by 14.1 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
