Turkish wire rod exports to Israel up 74.7 percent in January-April

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 0.33 percent year on year to 73,832 metric tons, down 2.99 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $43.43 million, down 5.03 percent year on year and decreasing by 3.87 percent month on month. In the given month, the average price of Turkey's wire rod exports stood at $588.23/mt, decreasing by $5.35/mt month on month, and down from the average of $621.45/mt recorded in the same month of 2013.

Meanwhile, in the first four months of this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 3.21 percent to 358,496 metric tons, while the value of these exports amounted to $212.43 million, down 6.05 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
 
In the first four months, Turkey's wire rod exports to Israel rose by 74.69 percent year on year to 86,636 metric tons, ahead of Morocco, which received 43,433 metric tons of wire rod from Turkey, compared to 222 mt in the same period of the previous year. Morocco was followed by Libya, which imported 40,999 metric tons of wire rod from Turkey in the given period, down 6.73 percent year on year. In April alone, Turkey's top wire rod export destination was the US, which received a total of 16,772 metric tons.
