According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), last year Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 935,129 mt, decreasing by 13.11 percent, while the revenue from these exports fell to $562.75 million, down 18.28 percent, both compared to 2012.
On the other hand, in December Turkey's wire rod exports increased by 26.10 percent year on year to 89,879 metric tons, rising by 53.48 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $53.51 million, up 23.18 percent year on year and up 54.36 percent month on month. In the given month, the average price of Turkey's wire rod exports stood at $595.92/mt, rising $3.41/mt month on month and down from the average of $610.07 mt recorded in the same month of 2012.
In the whole of last year, Turkey's wire rod exports to Libya rose by 43.57 percent to 125,370 mt, while its wire rod exports to Italy increased by 62.46 percent to 61,864 mt, both compared to 2012. In the given year, Turkey's wire rod exports to the US and Brazil decreased by 65.93 percent and 49 percent respectively on year-on-year basis.
