Turkish producers to supply 80 percent of TANAP pipes

Turkish steel pipe producer Borusan Mannesmann has announced that the Turkish consortium of Borusan Mannesmann, Noksel Çelik Boru and Erciyas Çelik Boru will supply 30 percent of the overall volume of 1.2 million mt of steel pipes to be used in the construction of the 1,900 km long Trans-Anatolian pipeline project (TANAP) which will transfer natural gas from the Caspian region to Europe through Turkey.
 
According to Borusan Mannesmann, the total value of the overall steel pipe supply tender is $420 million and the shipments are expected to be completed within 24 months.
           
The Turkish daily Dunya has reported that 25 percent of the steel pipes in question will be supplied by the Turkish Umran-Emek consortium, 25 percent will be delivered by Turkey-based Toscelik Profil and 20 percent by Baosteel Europe GmbH.
