Turkish PPGI imports down 70.6 percent in January-July

In July this year, Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) imports decreased by 30.6 percent month on month to 2,573 mt, down by 55 percent year on year, while the revenue from these imports decreased by 11.5 percent month on month to $3.3 million, down 25.8 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

In the first seven months of the current year, Turkey's PPGI imports decreased by 70.6 percent to 18,528 mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $20.11 million, down 53.22 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, Italy ranked first among Turkey's PPGI import sources, supplying 3,995 metric tons, down 57.16 percent year on year. Italy was followed by Belgium and China, with their PPGI exports to Turkey amounting to 3,462 metric tons and 2,972 metric tons respectively.
