Turkish PPGI exports up 31.8 percent in October

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the January-October period of this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 149,431 mt, decreasing by 18.6 percent, while the revenue from these exports totaled $150.8 million, down 22.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Turkey's PPGI exports had totaled 202,109 metric tons in 2013.
 
In October this year, Turkey's PPGI exports increased by 31.8 percent year on year and were down 33.1 percent compared to September, amounting to 10,575 metric tons. The revenue from these exports amounted to $11.2 million, down 32.4 percent month on month and rising by 25.8 percent year on year.
 
Russia was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the given periods, with imports of 916 mt of PPGI from Turkey in October, up 94.9 percent year on year, and imports of 56,599 mt of PPGI in the first 10 months of this year, down 30.04 percent year on year. In the first 10 months, Russia was followed by Azerbaijan and Romania, with Azerbaijan's PPGI imports from Turkey decreasing by 6.34 percent year on year to 15,947 mt, while Romania received 11,073 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period, down 9.73 percent year on year.
