Turkish PPGI exports down 26 percent in H1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in the first half of this year Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 83,256 mt, decreasing by 26.02 percent, while the revenue from these exports totaled $82.9 million, down 35.98 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Turkey's PPGI exports had totaled 202,109 metric tons in 2013. 

In June this year, Turkey's PPGI exports increased by 17.02 percent year on year to 25,569 metric tons, and were up 54.23 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $25.67 million, up 9.43 percent year on year and increasing by 75.36 percent month on month.
 
With imports of 17,560 mt of PPGI from Turkey in June and 32,996 mt in the first half of the year, Russia was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the given periods, ahead of Azerbaijan and Romania. In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan's PPGI imports from Turkey decreased by 31.8 percent to 7,408 mt, while Romania received 6,970 mt of PPGI from Turkey, down 28.45 percent year on year.
