According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in 2014 Turkey's pre-painted galvanized iron (PPGI) exports amounted to 170,847 mt, decreasing by 15.5 percent, while the revenue from these exports totaled $172.65 million, down 20 percent, both on year-on-year basis. Turkey's PPGI exports had totaled 202,109 metric tons in 2013.
In December 2014, Turkey's PPGI exports increased by 7.9 percent year on year and were up 15.3 percent compared to November, amounting to 11,467 metric tons. The revenue from these exports amounted to $11.8 million, up 18.2 percent month on month and falling 0.4 percent year on year.
Russia was Turkey's leading PPGI export destination in the given periods, with imports of 2,258 mt of PPGI from Turkey in December, up 26.78 percent year on year, and imports of 59,677 mt of PPGI in 2014, down 28.01 percent year on year. In 2014, Russia was followed by Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, with Azerbaijan's PPGI imports from Turkey decreasing by 0.97 percent year on year to 19,794 mt, while Bulgaria received 12,277 mt of PPGI from Turkey in this period, up 21.54 percent year on year.
