In November this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales totaled 124,835 units, increasing by 42 percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the same month, Turkey's passenger car sales totaled 95,783 units, up 54 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the January-November period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales amounted to 862,928 units, increasing by two percent on year-on-year basis.
In the first eleven months of the current year, Turkey's motor vehicle exports totaled 1,022,480 units, up 14 percent, while passenger car exports increased by 21 percent to 658,602 units, both year on year. In the same period, the country exported 320,835 small trucks, up three percent year on year. In the period in question, revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports increased by 11 percent to $21.89 billion, while the revenues from passenger car exports totaled $7.25 billion, rising by 16 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In November of the current year, Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 84,284 units, increasing by 45 percent year on year, while passenger car imports totaled 70,738 units, up 48 percent, year on year. In the January-November period of this year, the country's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 589,321, rising by five percent, while passenger car imports totaled 489,980 units, growing by seven percent, both compared to the same period of 2015.
