Turkish motor vehicle output up two percent in January-October

In October this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 100,977 units, up 14 percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the given month, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 62,001 units, up 19 percent, while commercial vehicle production amounted to 38,976 units, increasing by seven percent, both compared to October 2013.

Meanwhile, in the January-October period of this year, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted to 977,511 units, increasing two percent year on year. Passenger car output in the given period totaled 593,493 units, up 15 percent, while commercial vehicle production stood at 343,266 units, down 17 percent, both year on year.

The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in the first 10 months of this year was 68 percent.
