Turkish motor vehicle output up two percent in April

In April this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 123,044 units, rising by two percent year on year and down 3.7 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first four months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 469,115 units, up three percent year on year.
 
In April alone, passenger car output amounted to 74,625 units, increasing by 11 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 48,419 units, down nine percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-April period, passenger car output totaled 282,621 units, up six percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 186,494 units, falling by two percent, both compared to the same period of 2015.
 
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 86 percent in April this year, while the rate was 82 percent in the first four months of the year.
