Turkish motor vehicle output up ten percent in October

In October this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 145,866 units, rising by 10 percent year on year and up 23.2 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-October period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1,179,141 units, up seven percent year on year.
 
In October alone, passenger car output amounted to 98,008 units, increasing by 27 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 47,858 units, down 14 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the first ten months of this year, passenger car output totaled 739,189 units, up 15 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 439,952 units, down five percent, both compared to the same period of 2015.
 
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 100 percent in October this year, while the rate was 82 percent in the January-October period of the year.
