In December last year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 125,752 units, rising by four percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In 2015, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 1.358.796 units, up 16 percent year on year.
In December alone, passenger car output amounted to 74,688 units, increasing by six percent, while commercial car output totaled 51,064 units, up by two percent, both on year-on-year basis. In 2015, passenger car output totaled 791,027 units, up eight percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 567,769 units, rising by 30 percent, both compared to 2014.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 88 percent in December last year, while the rate was 80 percent in 2015.
