In December 2014, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 120,593 units, rising 45 percent year on year and up 6.6 percent compared to November, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the given month, Turkey's passenger car output totaled 70,480 units, up 38 percent, while commercial vehicle production amounted to 50,113 units, up 55 percent, both compared to December 2013.
Meanwhile, in 2014, the country's total motor vehicle output amounted 1,170,445 units, increasing by four percent year on year. Passenger car output in the given period totaled 733,439 units, up 14 percent, while commercial vehicle production stood at 437,006 units, down 11 percent, both year on year.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry in 2014 was 70 percent.
