In June this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 141,161 units, rising by eight percent year on year and down 8.8 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the first half of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 869,158 units, up 20 percent year on year.
In June alone, passenger car output amounted to 94,839 units, increasing by 15 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 46,322 units, down six percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the first half of this year, passenger car output totaled 601,586 units, up 36 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 267,572 units, down six percent, both compared to the same period of 2016.
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 89 percent in June this year, while the rate was 91 percent in the January-June period of the year.
