Turkish motor vehicle output down two percent in July

In July this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 110,851 units, falling by two percent year on year and down 15.5 percent month on month, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the January-July period of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle output totaled 836,821 units, up seven percent year on year.
 
In July alone, passenger car output amounted to 69,030 units, increasing by 11 percent, while commercial vehicle output totaled 41,821 units, down 17 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the first seven months of this year, passenger car output totaled 510,396 units, up 12 percent, and commercial vehicle production amounted to 326,425 units, remaining stable, both compared to the same period of 2015.
 
The overall production capacity utilization rate of the Turkish automotive industry was 77 percent in July this year, while the rate was 83 percent in the January-July period of the year.
