Turkish metal producers' sales prices down slightly in Oct

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in October this year the producer price index (PPI) for Turkish industry in general rose by 0.69 percent over September and was up 6.77 percent year on year, while an average rise of 3.9 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.
 
In October, the PPI for the domestic basic metal industry fell by 1.1 percent month on month and was up five percent compared to October 2012. Meanwhile, the average change in the PPI for the latest twelve months was -3.5 percent.
On the other hand, during the given month, the PPI for domestic manufacture of metal products, except machinery, rose 0.2 percent compared to the previous month and was up 5.1 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average decrease of 0.25 percent in the PPI index was registered in the latest 12 months.
